Patricia wanted to lose weight but just couldn’t get motivated. So, she signed up for a health coach from StayWell who recommended that she keep a food journal to keep her aware of what she was eating. After just one week of journaling, she could see she needed to make different choices.
Patricia began bringing her lunch from home and limiting her portion sizes. So far, not bad. Pretty easy to do. Then she started walking for exercise but wanted more variety. With some suggestions from her health coach, Patricia added biking to her walking schedule and started going to the gym four days a week for a full 60-minute workout.
She’s lost 13 pounds and stays motivated by tracking her exercise on a calendar. Patricia says that she’s even sleeping better, has more energy and clothes are fitting her differently. Her cholesterol also dropped 21 points and her confidence is through the roof—a 10 out of 10! She feels she will be able to maintain these changes well into the future, thanks to her health coach.
