John Tarbuck
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

With nearly 30 years of leading organizations and developing winning business strategies, John Tarbuck is a recognized leader in the field of health management. Tarbuck has overall leadership responsibility for StayWell Health Management, and is focused on developing and implementing strategic plans and leading the sales team.

In 1989, Tarbuck was one of the leaders in the management buyout of StayWell, a highly successful and innovative employee wellness program at Control Data Corporation. Tarbuck graduated Cum Laude from Bemidji State University and has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with an emphasis in finance.

Paul Terry, Ph.D.
President and Chief Operating Officer

Paul Terry joined StayWell Health Management in 2007, assuming responsibility for leading all program development, research, and operations in support of behavior change and management. Terry most recently served as president and chief executive officer of the Park Nicollet Institute in Minnesota, where he directed programs that won the C. Everett Koop National Health Award and the Minnesota Department of Health Award for Excellence in Health Promotion.

Widely published in professional journals and consumer publications, Terry is also the author and editor of a number of books, including “Well Advised,” a well-known guide to consumer medical decision making.

As a Senior Fulbright Scholar, Terry worked on HIV prevention in Africa. He also served on the health education faculty at St. Cloud State University and Hamline University. Terry earned his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.

David R. Anderson, Ph.D.
Sr. Vice President and Chief Health Officer

David Anderson is the architect of StayWell Health Management’s health assessment models and the first widely used health information system to manage targeted health behavior-change interventions. He has responsibility for StayWell’s systems for risk assessment, behavior change management, and health care cost impact estimation, as well as providing consulting expertise on major customer programs.

Prior to StayWell, Anderson held management and consulting positions with Control Data Corporation where he played a major role in creating one of the first successful corporate health management programs. Anderson began his career as Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.

Anderson is a charter member of the board of directors of the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO), and serves as chair of its research committee. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of South Dakota.
